Class Description

Learn how to put those pipes to use with good technique and style. This class will have you singing out with songs from some of your favorite Disney movies from the Renaissance era (1989-1999), such as the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, and more! In this interactive class, students will learn the fundamental concepts and training of the voice. They'll also learn proper posture and breathing techniques, phrasing, and how to stay on pitch.

  • -Identify the function of the diaphragm. 
  • -Describe the vocal instrument. 
  • -Demonstrate proper posture. 
  • -Identify and demonstrate 6-8 proper warm-up techniques. 
  • -Identify and demonstrate proper breathing techniques. 
  • -Identify and describe the use of diction and articulation when singing. 
  • -Describe and demonstrate staying on pitch, how to not go flat or sharp, and singing pitches. 
  • -Identify and demonstrate phrasing. 
  • -Identify different sensory elements that create a mood, emotion, or idea in a musical selection.

Grace Ramsey

Grace is 25 and lives in Justin, TX. She is in her last year of the Music Therapy program at Texas Woman's University. Grace believes in the healing power of music but also that music is fun and brings people together. She has six siblings that grew up playing music and putting on plays together. Grace loves to sing and dance and all things Disney. Her dream is to one day be a voice actress for Disney but until then, she enjoys being a nanny to two children and hopes to be a role model to those around her.
