Description

Step into the spotlight and let your voice take center stage! In this class, students will focus on the art of singing Broadway songs with skill and expression. Emphasis will be placed on developing strong vocal technique, understanding music theory, and acting through the music to bring every lyric to life. Students will learn how to shape tone, master phrasing, and deliver songs with the emotional depth that makes Broadway performances unforgettable. Students will perform in a final showcase, stepping into the spotlight to shine and demonstrate the vocal skills and storytelling they’ve mastered.

Jacob Waymon

Jacob Waymon is a music educator, conductor and music director with a Master of Music in Conducting from Oklahoma City University and a Bachelor of Music in Education from the University of Central Arkansas. Currently serving as the Choir Director at Cobb and Griffin Middle Schools, Jacob has been a director in Frisco ISD since 2024, having previously led the choir program at Clark Middle School. A passionate music director, his work across these campuses includes serving as Music Director for productions of Elf Jr., Finding Nemo Kids and The Little Mermaid Jr. He has also served as Music Director for CYT Dallas productions of James and the Giant Peach Jr. and Aladdin Jr.
