Join CYT Dallas’ resident makeup designer for a hands-on class where students and families are invited to explore the art of theatrical makeup. Learn the fundamentals of stage makeup—from contouring and highlighting to building full character looks. Together, you’ll discover how makeup helps transform faces and tell a story on stage. Best of all, students will get the opportunity to help design makeup looks for our upcoming Spring productions! Grab your brushes and get creative in this engaging class where every detail helps bring characters to life.

Christina Alft

Christina is a Dallas, TX native and studied studio arts and fine painting at SMU while pursuing her English and Creative Writing degree. She soon found that she could apply some of the techniques learned in painting to makeup application. She joined the hair and makeup committee for the first production of CYT Dallas, Into the Woods, when her son was cast in the show. She found a new passion and became chair of that committee for the following eight shows before making the Production Team as CYT Dallas Hair and Makeup Designer. She sang in choir and show choir throughout middle and high school and loved being in that creative musical space again, developing looks that help bring characters to life! When she’s not creating the next CYT Dallas production looks, she’s the HR and Payroll Manager for her family’s restaurants and a full-time mom of three.
