Description
Great acting starts with great understanding. Scenework Makes the Dream Work is a focused acting class for teens who are ready to go beyond memorizing lines and start discovering what’s really happening on the page. Students will dive into script analysis, exploring story, structure, relationships, and objectives to uncover what drives a scene and the characters within it.
Through guided discussion, rehearsal, and hands-on scene work, actors will learn how to dig into a script, make intentional character choices, and bring authenticity and clarity to their performances. By examining dialogue, subtext, and circumstance, students will gain tools they can use in auditions, rehearsals, and productions. The class culminates in a showcase that highlights each student’s growth and understanding.
Class Highlights:

📖 Build Strong Characters: Use text, subtext, and story clues to create grounded, believable character choices.
🧠Think Like a Storyteller: Explore how individual scenes fit into the larger story and how actors help bring that story to life.
🌟 Perform with Purpose: Apply analysis and rehearsal techniques to focused scene work in preparation for a showcase.
