Description

This course is designed for students seeking to grow as theatre technicians. Study will include lighting, sound, set, costuming, stage management, and more, with guest artists and consistent hands-on learning experiences to practice and demonstrate their skills. Students will produce Project Play and Trimester Class Showcases requiring additional lab hours. 

Objectives:
  1. Master Technical Skills: Provide comprehensive training in lighting, sound, set design, costuming, and stage management, enhancing students’ technical proficiency (Anchor Standard 5: Develop and refine artistic techniques and work for presentation).
  2. Hands-On Learning: Engage students in practical, hands-on experiences to apply their technical knowledge in real-world scenarios (Anchor Standard 6: Convey meaning through the presentation of artistic work).
  3. Collaboration with Professionals: Introduce students to industry professionals through guest artist sessions, offering insights and networking opportunities (Anchor Standard 8: Interpret intent and meaning in artistic work).
