Special Guest Announcement

We are honored to welcome Grammy and Emmy Award winner Adrianna Hicks to the CYT Dallas Gala stage!

Raised in McKinney, Texas, Adrianna is a proud alumna of McKinney High School and the University of Oklahoma's Weitzenhoffer School of Musical Theatre, where she received a scholarship from the Congressional Black Caucus. Her journey from Texas to Broadway is nothing short of inspiring.

Adrianna originated the role of Sugar in Some Like It Hot—a role made famous by Marilyn Monroe—and earned a Grammy Award for her work on the show. She also originated the role of Catherine of Aragon in Broadway’s smash-hit SIX the Musical, and has performed at the Tony Awards. Her Broadway credits include The Color Purple alongside Jennifer Hudson and Cynthia Erivo, as well as Aladdin, which marked her Broadway debut.

On September 20th, Adrianna returns to her roots to join our students on stage for a night of inspiration, celebration, and unforgettable performances.

The Why...

At CYT Dallas, we believe in the power of building character through the medium of Creative Arts. In our culture, character is often hoped for but seldom realized. We have the opportunity to impart discipline and integrity while instilling self-confidence in each student who accepts our challenge. While students are busy creating characters on stage, we are focused on helping them build characters that will shape not only their future but ours as well. 

We believe that God created us all equal, and we are indeed beautifully and wonderfully made in His image, each of us with talents and skill sets that are uniquely ours. We desire that through the creative arts, we help our students realize those talents and skillsets individually while learning the value of respect, work ethics, working together, and the importance of time and effort well spent. 

We have chosen to reach out to students who love exploring their creative side. While doing so, we hope to plant seeds in their lives that will change the world around them and possibly the world in which we all live. Creative Arts have infused the world for Millennia: painting, singing, acting, dancing, writing, artisanal crafts—all of these disciplines have impacted the history of our world. 

We want to build, guide, and shape characters while creating characters for everyone's enjoyment. Who better to utilize these God-Given gifts than those who have been impacted and taught the Godly ways to use their gifts? 

If you have a creative student in your life who would benefit from a program like this and would like to have an opportunity to include others, CYT has a program just for that person.
