Description:

A CYT Dallas Christmas Musical

In a town where Christmas joy has faded and traditions have gone dim, a spark of light is about to change everything.

When young Clara returns home with her mom, Lena, to help run their family's bakery, she’s met with more than the scent of gingerbread and cinnamon. The town is different; colder, quieter, and missing the festive warmth it once knew. But hidden in the walls of Sweet Light Bakery are stories, memories, and a mystery that could bring healing to a hurting community.

Guided by the wisdom of her late grandfather and the unwavering love of family, Clara sets out to uncover the truth, restore hope, and remind the town of the light that still shines...if only they’ll let it.

Everlight is a heartwarming holiday musical filled with laughter, song, and the magic of rediscovering what really matters. With a cast of colorful characters, toe-tapping tunes, and a message of family, faith, and redemption, this is a show that will leave audiences of all ages inspired to carry the light, no matter how dark the world may seem.

Characters:

Clara Bell

The heart of the story. Clara is curious, determined, and full of imagination. She’s not afraid to speak up, challenge tradition, and fight for what’s right, even when the adults around her have given up.

Lena Bell

Clara’s mom. Creative, slightly scattered, and emotionally distant at times, Lena is returning to her hometown after years away. Under her witty exterior, she’s searching for reconnection and purpose.

Megan

Clara’s no-nonsense aunt. Megan's stayed behind to run the bakery. She’s organized, loyal, and a little stubborn, but underneath her strong exterior is a warm heart.

Dale

Megan’s husband. Fun-loving, easygoing, and slightly oblivious, Dale handles the bakery’s books and stumbles into a mystery without meaning to. Great comedic timing required.

Theodore Dobbins

The mayor of the town. A once-beloved town leader who has grown cold and stern. Now a curmudgeon who canceled Christmas years ago, he’s hiding a secret that’s weighed on him for far too long. Strong emotional range needed.

Rory

Clara’s bold, hilarious best friend. Quick-witted and always has something sarcastic to say. Loves a good plan, but has no filter. The comedic heartbeat of the kids’ group.

Felicity

The perfectionist of the crew. Slightly bossy, extremely intelligent, and determined to do things “right”.

Jude

Chill and quiet. The steady soul of the friend group. Often shares accidental wisdom and likes music, old books, and peace. Kind and thoughtful, with a quiet strength.

Sam

The worrywart. Sam is scared of everything: glitter, ladders, goats, you name it. Despite his fears, he’s incredibly loyal to his friends and often ends up in the funniest situations.

Miss Penny

The town’s quirky costume shop owner. She’s theatrical, flamboyant, and full of old pageant stories. A natural scene-stealer.

Mr. Thompson

The silent chapel caretaker. Gruff on the outside but deeply kind. Says little, but his few words carry weight. One of the show’s most poignant supporting roles.

Townspeople Ensemble

Shop owners, neighbors, council members, ect.
